The Laser Center of Melbourne is proud to offer Vi Peels, a highly effective and trusted anti-aging treatment that can help improve the overall health and appearance of your skin. Vi Aesthetics, the originator of advanced blended chemical peels, has been a trusted industry leader in developing effective anti-aging treatments that provide a proven process of esthetic science for healthy, beautiful skin.
What is a Vi Peel?
The Vi Peel is a chemical peel, utilizing a unique blend of acids, designed to improve the skin’s texture and appearance.
What are the benefits of the Vi Peel?
The Vi Peel can improve the look of enlarged pores, uneven skin texture or tone, fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scarring, as well as areas of hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage, age, and hormonal imbalance. Different from other chemical treatments, the anti aging Vi Peel is safe for all skin tones, virtually pain-free, and does not require any downtime.
Will my Vi Peel hurt?
Compared to other chemical treatments, the VI Peel does not cause discomfort. Patients may note a slight stinging sensation when it is immediately applied, but this will diminish almost immediately.
What can I expect from my recovery, after a Vi Peel?
Patients should expect the recovery period following a Vi Peel to take about a week. Immediately after treatment, the face may be slightly red and mildly swollen. These are normal and will resolve quickly. Strenuous activities and sun exposure should be avoided for the first several days. Sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more should be worn everyday. About three days after the treatment, the skin will begin to peel. This can last up to seven days, at which time the fresh, healthy skin will appear.
Can I Peel the skin that is hanging during the peeling process?
No. Never pull back on the skin that is shedding. It is recommended to use a small cuticle scissor to trim the exfoliating skin. You can also go and wash the face to help gently remove the hanging skin. If washing the face multiple times a day, be sure to add moisture back to the skin by applying the Post Peel Protectant. You also MUST use the Vi Derm SPF 50+ to protect the skin during and after the exfoliation process.
Do I have to have more than one Vi Peel?
For optimal results, The Laser Center of Melbourne recommends a series of four Vi Peel chemical peels, spaced about four-six weeks apart.
What are the potential risks of a Vi Peel?
The Vi Peel is considered extremely safe and holds few risks. Side effects can include redness and minor swelling. On the rare occasion, hyperpigmentation or dark spots may temporarily occur.
